What does an Audit Intern do?
Participates in a variety of challenging assignments, similar to those handled by full-time Audit Division staff.
Participates on audits of the Banks operations and/or information technology functions including, but not limited to:
Assisting on assurance reviews of the Banks operations and/or information technology functions;
Analyzing business processes to evaluate and verify compliance with established policies and procedures; and
Determining if internal controls and processes are effectively designed and implemented.
Conducts diverse projects within the Audit Division to contribute to achievement of Division objectives and/or support ongoing audit attentions.
Serves as a risk consultant or advisor to audit clients by identifying control weaknesses or opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations.
What skills and experience do Audit Interns need?
Undergraduate or graduate students within two years of graduation.
Maintain independence and objectivity when working with audit clients.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Initiative and leadership skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Foundational knowledge of generally accepted auditing techniques preferred.
Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
Are there specific requirements to be an Audit Intern?
Bank employees may not own or control, directly or indirectly, any debt or equity interest in a depository institution and, in certain assignments, in a primary dealer of government securities. A "depository institution" means a bank, a trust company, or any institution that accepts deposits, including a bank chartered under the laws of a foreign country. This restriction also applies to an employee's spouse or minor child. Prospective hires will be required to abide by this restriction and may be asked to divest of their financial holdings as a condition of employment.
